Dear Viewer,
It
is indeed my great pleasure to present the Annual Report
2008-2009 of Annesha Foundation (AF) before all of you stating
the activities of the organization comprehensively and
transparently. The outcome of various programmes undertaken by
Annesha Foundation during the year 2008-2009 has resulted in
greater success in many areas of programme implementation
particularly in the sphere of micro –finance. We are sincerely
steering a pragmatic and modern micro-finance institution
focused on underprivileged, marginal and disadvantaged section
of the people of our beloved country.
Annesha
Foundation (AF) emerged with the spirit of reducing chronic
suffering of the outreach poor people and helping them lift out
of extreme poverty. Over the past 20 years, Annesha Foundation
strives to reach its goals and has taken so many great steps for
empowering the poor people in general and the women in
particular in 10 districts of Bangladesh. It has contributed so
much for the socio-economical development of the working areas.
We believe, the poor can get rid of poverty by the Micro Credit
program and Micro Enterprise since Micro credit Program is the
best way to alleviate poverty in Bangladesh. I want to thank our
Almighty God that Annesha Foundation has been working
successfully in Bangladesh.
At present,
Annesha Foundation is implementing 8 projects in 1,066 villages,
174 unions, 23 Upazila under 10 districts. The number of
beneficiaries are 41,401 and this number is constantly
increasing. 30,691 beneficiaries are getting services through
Micro Credit Programs and 8,700 urban working children both boys
and girls are receiving basic education through the education
program of Annesha Foundation. From the time of inception,
Annesha Foundation has been working for these neglected,
underprivileged, disadvantaged and exploited people.
2008-2009 was
the turning year for Annesha Foundation. In this year, AF
microfinance further strengthened with the full financial
support of PKSF and began to overcome the loss caused by the
devastating SIDR’07. The administration and staffs of Annesha
Foundation worked hard to get over and solve the crisis. On
behalf of the Executive Committee of Annesha Foundation, I would
like to appreciate them.
I express my
sincere thanks and gratitude to honorable General Body,
Executive Committee members of Annesha Foundation (AF), our
generous donor agencies, government and non-government
authorities like- PKSF, DNFE, NGO Foundation, and NGO Affairs
Bureau for their generous cooperation and valuable advises.
I hope and pray
that Annesha Foundation (AF) will avail to achieve its
objectives and play a vital role for the eradication of poverty
in Bangladesh. Finally, I seek continued cooperation, assistance
and advice from the concerned donor agencies, organizations and
well-wishers in the coming years, so that we can persist our
activities to reduce the suffering of the poor people.
